One of the benefits of making your own stuff is the ability to adapt when new sizes come around. With the amount of fat bikes finally reaching a point that Wheels Manufacturing saw returns on a fat bike bottom bracket, their PF86 got the stretch. Essentially just lengthening the center tube to fit the longer pressfit bottom bracket shell of a fat bike, Wheels Manufacturing will offer BBs for 121 and 131mm shells with 24mm or 24/22mm spindles, as well as 100mm PF30 fat bike bottom brackets for 30mm spindles. Available now, the bottom brackets run $74 for the ABEC-3 or $99 for the Angular Contact bearings.

For the shop (or the very well equipped home mechanic) Wheels Manufacturing has a few new bearing drifts that will leave you seeing red…

While we’re on the subject of bottom brackets, Wheels Manufacturing was happy to point out that they discovered their BBRight bottom bracket will also work with the new PF30a (asymmetric) shells. Good news for an already standard crazy world.

In addition to the shiny red ano treatment, Wheels Manufacturing is adding to their bearing drift kit with thru axle bearing compatibility. To make room for the axles, bearings have had to change which means shops need new tools to do the repairs. The new 2705×37, 15×26, and 17×28 drifts will be available separately or as part of the Large Sealed Bearing Press above.
